rigging question

hi I am new to this forum and have used the search feature. does anyone know of any major obstacles to over come. i am installing a 2001 200 hpdi on a boat that is rigged for a '98 150 2 stroke. At a glance I noticed that the harness connectors do not match up. I have a seloc manual was not sure if I should just cut and splice/heatshrink. or try to find some adapter. for oil/trim harnesses etc.

The main 10 pin harness going to key switch are the same, they haven't changed. the Gauge harness and oil tank harness are the same from 1994-2004 so they should work as well.
