safe mode after running 4000rpm 15 min

I have twin 1999 os66 200hp fuel injected engines. If i run under 4000rpm i can run all day,if I run harder after 15 min I get a alarm and motor goes into safe mode. The oil bar on the tach shows low oil. If I shut down for 15-20 sec alarm clears and oil bar shows 3 oil cans. I can then run for another 15 min or so then stat the cycle over again. Anyone have any ideas?

clean the remote oil tank filter.
check for pinched oil transfer hose.
properly test the system.
it is maint.
