Pay attention to the last page in the attachment. Did/does your fuel gauge work? That blue wire your talking about that connects to nothing, I take it the blue wire is just hanging, cut off?

I really think your gauge has lost, or is about to lose its display and needs ot be replaced.

    Good luck!

Now we have "the rest of the story".

The white wire is for the fuel tank quantity sender. To operate the fuel quantity bars on the speedometer.

I agree, he is the one that started talking about fish. not sure why he made the other statement either.

where did you get the part # and where is the blue/white wire

are you sure there is not a cover plug with dipswitches behind it?

OP said he wanted to see a wiring diagram for the part number speedometer he has. I posted same.

    Oh, I don't see a blue/white wire either.

I try not to get confused as much as I once did. I try to just provide what is being asked for. Even if it makes no sense to moi.

Couldn't catch any smaller than 4', need less than 2' to be "edible" and delicious. But did have a nice catch and release off Sebastian, FL.

That's what I'm thinking, it's just that when it first kicks on everything can be seen perfectly and then it almost completely fades out. I'd like to see a wiring diagram to see where the blue/white wire should connect to.

Iv'e heard many times that "fading" of the LCD display is common for these gauges after many hours. Probably don't have a wiring problem. Here's a post from 2005 that may interest you. http://www.yamahaoutboardparts.com/f...es-th3129.html
