    I remember you posting on this subject and looked up the thread you started.
    all the pics are no longer there.
    So could you send a pic of the flush rig you came up with?
    a friend just had to clean his out .

    I would think you disconnect the tube heading to the gauge when you run water up from the lower unit ,

    I would think that full water hose pressure would not be good for the gauge.
    where do you disconnect it?
    At the motor topside, at the gauge, or where it comes out of the lower unit?

    You also put a Tee with a Shrader valve in at the console to push residual water out of the tube running thru the boat , Do you use air after every trip to clear the tubing?
