T8 wont start an

I recently changed battery and now the starting button will not start the motor however the power trim works great. I chec 10 amp fuse on top of the motor and it's fine. Any ideas? Steve

Did you make sure to clean the terminals on the battery and the leads, and tighten them. Sounds like resistance, as you would not have touched anything else - If you had the terminals back to front and then turned key you may have blown up (fried something)?

Yes I did clean them well. Why would the power trim work but not the starter button tho?

break out your volt meter and see where you have voltage and where you do not

Where am I checking for voltage? Could it be a bad nutral switch?

have to have 12+ to button before it can be sent on to start relay

Could be the start switch or could be the neutral safety switch. I would bet on the neutral safety switch. Fiddle with the shift mechanism a bit and see if the motor will crank.

This is a tiller steered model correct? You did not provide the complete model identity.
