F50 starter

Hi!

1997 F50AET / F50TLRV starter motor bendix spin but don´t raise to grab flywheel...

Dismantled the starter and found the brushes with wear but I don't think this is the problem.

Any thoughts?

Check obvious. Battery fully charged? Connections clean? to starter motor? to battery?
If starter motor spins hard then obviously the bendix gear sticking - check by hand whether it extends all the way up - inspect and clean and lubricate. Usually little problem with these as far as breakage is concerned.
All else good then issue with starter motor internal electrical - windings, commutator, brushes (replacement!)
