Can a triple 2nd station Command Link work with a twin main Command Link Plus?

Hi All........new to Yamaha and the forum. I've been told yes and no by questionable sources. I am leaving out the center wiring of course. I have the 2nd station triple controls all plugged into the main station and I have power to the triple 2nd (yellow wire from ignition). But the binnacle LED's won't light up. That's the first issue I need help with. The second issue is..........is this a waste of time because it can't work? Any ideas?
