  • Update on the high pressure pump

Got the pump back from flagship and finally got the mechanic to come back and install it. He called to tell me it was up and running with all good readings. He didn't bay test it due to the thunder storms. I guess I won't really know till I take it out. He did tell me he heard a knocking coming from the same engine. He said not to worry about it but what could be the cause of it and should I be worried?

Knocking is never a good thing coming from any motor but a diesel.
    I would be worried

Don't know I never heard it. I'm going to the boat tomorrow to see. He didn't take it out so I'm assuming it was at idle.

If you can make a video/audio and post it, it'd be considerably easier for folks to chime in on.

If he's a mechanic, he should know if its normal or not..

Could it be from the shaft after the water pumps were changed?

I believe in about his 10th new thread they pulled of the high pressure fuel pump for the second time and sent it away to be repaired.
