    update
as I could not get the trim caps off the unit due to wallowed out spanner holes and I had a spare unit with a good reservoir I made 2 units into one.

the original problem was technician induced.

I found the guts to the down relief valve and the valve oring missing from the pump body.

the parts diagram does not list nor show the guts.
it lists it as valve sub assy on trim and tilt page 2.

the pin in that valve is about the diameter of a paper clip and about 1/4" long and is NOT retained in the valve body.
    it falls out eaisily.
the ball is about the size of a bb and falls out just after the pin does.

this valve goes into the pump body.
not to be confused with the valve in the trim unit body.

but all that remains is cleaning and painting.
once the paint is dry it gets shipped.

wish I coulda seen your face when the resivior blew off .
    priceless.
yep we all had that same face in class that day.

dunno what I am gonna find but worse case Ill mount it on my F150.

its been a donkey motor since 07.

its also the motor I figguered out that the factory TPS setting and linkage adjustments simply wont work.

If it's bled and tested without a load. it preforms fine. Once it's under a load (on the boat with the engine attached) it will not trim DOWN.

that's been the whole issue... trims up then will not trim down
