Dual station kit install

Newbie.. I have a 2006 Regulator with twin F150’s. I’ve just recently had a tower fitted and I’m now in the process of fitting dual station controls. I’m struggling. I purchased the 6x1-W000-30-00 dual station control kit; I noticed that the kit was discontinued by Yamaha (probably due to the price) in 2002. When I purchased the kit I was told the system would work with the F150 the only part I would need is an adaptor lead for the tachs, so that didn’t seem to be a problem, but now I see two different types of controls the earlier 704 controls that came with the kit and the newer controls that came with the boat. Is this going to work? Has anyone installed a duel station to F150.

When you say "earlier 704 controls" what exactly do you mean? Are you referring to the standard 704 control box versus the premium 704 control box?

The 704 control box that came with your boat should work just fine in lieu of the 704 controls that came in the dual station kit, if that is what you are interested in doing. Or, remove your control box and install the one in the kit. Mox nix.

The premium box just looks a bit fancier than the standard control box.
