Ventilation plate height 20 yammylund

Just wondering if I got this ever opinionated debate called ventilation plate height, correct. I'm a little more concerned about the height of the clamps on the transom though. Pretty near the top. Can I just leave it like that or will i have to drill a couple holes through the transom for more security? thanks Matt

always a good idea to drill and bolt once you find the spot you are looking for.

I once pulled in a women and her daughter back in out of the bay after they hit a sand/mud bar and their motor jumped off the transom and sank.
Not to mention the extra time it takes for a thief to pull it off along with the tools needed may save you a motor

Ok good because I can't really go any higher anyway. I'll bolt er' up and hope for good performance, safety and theft deterant. I their some special sealant to use?.
