white greasy discharge from front of transom

I have a 99' c40tlrx. just recently I noticed a thick white greasy substance(smells like gas) leaking from the front of the transom, opposite of the exhaust in the back of motor. I also can see smoke and water coming from the same area when motor is running. How bad is this?

If it's coming out by the steering arm probably a bad engine base gasket.

How hard of a job is that to fix? Would that also cause power loss?

Just remove engine and replace gasket, not hard to do.
