Hi from Greece!
I have a scout 222 which has the specific engine but I am not satisfied. Firstly, the max rpm is 5200 and secondly, the consumption of petrol at 3500rpm 24mph is 33 litra per hour.
Today I visited a local mechanic and he told me that we must lift the engine but we realised that it is long enough. It has an extension of 5" which mean that the engine is long enough for my boat. So the mechanic advised me to change the extension with a smaller one. I guess that it will cost a lot so I want to know if this solution will help me and then which parts I must order so as to fix it.
I forgot to mention that it has an inox propeller 19 in case that the problem is this one and I need a smaller propeller such as 17 (another thought oh the mechanic).
