'86 Analog Tach Prob. on Pro V 150

Wondering if the tach gauge is bad or wiring problem. When motor is running needle is bouncing all over all the time, mostly in 5-7000 range. Any thoughts? Would be nice to know what RPMs I'm kicking at!

Sounds like the tach is bad.

Is there a way to test for this?

You can monitor the ac voltage at green wire at tach with a voltmeter to see if signal voltage is steady.
