  • V6 Merc Prop on F150

    Hi again,

Just want to confirm that a V6 Merc prop will fit my F150? From my research maybe i will have to use a Merc thrust washer instead of the Yammie one? Is this correct?

    Cheers.

    will it fit the shaft?
after a fashion and only with the correct combo of thrust and spacer washers.
now will the pitch and diameter be correct?

Solas have recommended the diameter and pitch. Its a 4 blade 14 1/2 15p. I currently have stainless yammie 17p only getting 5200rpm. So it seems i just need a merc thrust washer and i should be good.

Can you return it if it doesn't work correctly? Does Solas recommend this prop for your motor? Did they tell you that you only need the washer?

        They should know for sure.

I would think you would need a Yamaha thrust washer.

The prop I bought for my Yamaha motor came with a Mercury motor washer for some reason. it fit, but when I called them about the way it fit, they said it was the wrong washer and sent me the correct one

Mercury prop needs a mercury thrust washer.

Then there is will this prop also improve top RPM's? Keep us posted on what difference this prop makes.
