  • Safety kill switch

I want to add another kill switch on my 25 VMHS. I found that the kill switch is normally open. This means that any loose connection or broken wire means the (new) kill switch won't work. I have no 12V battery and voltage at starting is too low to pull a relay. Therefore I'm stuck and cannot make a fail-safe kill switch. Unless anyone of you knows of another way which would use a nrmally closed connection. Anyone..????

Connect to white and black coming from CDI to safety switch and extend the wires to second safety switch. If ether switch is activated it will close the circuit and stop engine

I thought of that, nut then the system is not fail safe. A broken wire would mean the engine would keep running. Through NauticExpo I got the elctrical scheme. It seems I can place the switch in either the brown or the blue wire from the CDI unit. These wires appear to be coming from the charge spool and power the CDI unit. Interruption would mean no spark. Right? Do you know of any objection to interrupting (just) the power supply to the CDI unit?

Anyone interrupted the power supply to the CDI unit while the engine was running?
        This is not a problem?

You will have to use the white ign wire, it is the only wire setup for the ign stop circuit
