  • No rpm on tacho

Hi everyone. I have a f100 det 2005. When i first start the engine after a few days sitting the engine starts but the tacho is reading zero. It also sounds a bit rough when running. If i turn engine off and restart again tacho works and engine is smooth. Ive checked all connections under the dashboard and everything appears ok. If someone could point me in the right direction i would be greatful. Thanks in advance

The tacho gets its signo from the moto.

Start with the green wire to the tachometer and work backwards to the motor. Inspect and check all green wire connections.

Also verify that the tacho has good voltage and ground at all times when the key is on.

Looking and wiggling doesn't mean your connections are good. Unfortunately, they have to taken apart , then inspected and cleaned. Ask me how I know....
