  • OX66 250 fuel pump failure.

Ox66 250 shut down at idle today. When attempted to restart could not hear pump start up on key turn. Checked and no voltage to pump with key on.
Cleaned ten pin plug and female plug as well. When key was turned could hear pump run for 3-4 seconds. Then motor started and ran for 3-4 minutes then cut off. No sound of fuel pump when key switch was turned. Motor wont start. No voltage to pump with key on.
What runs the fuel pump? Is there a device between the ten pin harness plug and the fuel pump. Any thoughts on this?

The fuel pump gets its electrical power from the main relay. The relay also powers the fuel injectors and the O2 sensor.

Do the injectors and O2 sensor have voltage when the key is on? If not, I would check the relay. Power side and control side.

any device that has a yellow/red wire has 12V at key on.
the ECU controls most of the device ground path.
at key on you should have 12V to the injectors,O2 sensor heater and the fuel pump.

            Fuel pump

Thanks. I checked the voltage at the fuel pump. Key switch on no volts. I was thinking that when it briefly worked after I cleaned the ten pin harness plug that it is a faulty harness ... is that too big a jump?

How come 99.9% of the people trying to troubleshoot a problem on a motor all but never ask how does the system function?

service manual should help you find the parts and and wiring.

need to have things like those to troubleshoot newer things now a days
