  • f150 overheat alarm , hopefully shorter thread !

Took the boat out on Saturday-'06 F150, after 5 months of repairs and had the overheat alarm go off in several situations. First was at wot , I shut off immediately , let cool down for no more than 1 minute , started back up and was fine. water pressure gauge read 20psi @ 4700. second time was at idle speed in a creek , good water stream , no pressure but with jackplate up at idle , I have never had any water pressure showing on the gauge , but again , had good stream . Came back to the house and on the way had the same issue as in the first case , shut off , start back up and all was fine. With the boat in the water at the dock , I hooked up the YDS Sunday and ran it at 2000 rpm for 10 mins , had strong stream and pressure at 12psi . I increased to 3200 for 10 mins , had 19 psi and temp stopped at 171. I pulled the new thermostat today and tested it , it opens at about 150 degrees . I pulled and tested thermoswitch and had continuity/no continuity at the spec'd temps. I am in the process of trying to find the the engine temperature sensor , once done I will test. I can't help but think it was something I had done since I never had this problem before all the repairs . No codes stored , but I read in previous posts that it will take a little time of running with the alarm before a code is stored , and I have shut motor off immediately
