  • F350/general 4 stroke winterizing question

    Looking to get some feedback about winterizing my 2008 F350s. My 350s are new to me this year. According to my internet research, there seems to be some debate whether or not you should fog a 4-stroke engine. The Seloc maintenance book I have states it recommends fogging the engine but it is not required. I came from 250 verados which stated you were supposed to pull the plugs, spray fogging fluid in the cylinders, turn the engine over without plugs installed, put more fluid in the cylinders, and put the spark plugs back in to finish the procedure. It makes sense that accomplishing this procedure on my 350s wouldn't hurt anything and should protect the internal parts of the engine from any rust buildup or corrosion while the boat is in storage up in chilly NJ... thoughts?

    my thoughts?
    I run a fogging mix consisting of fuel stabilizer,2 stroke oil and gas through the fuel system.
    goes faster if you drain the VST first.
    I add crank case store N start .
    we don't fog them.
    I also hook up a washdown pump with a nontoxic A/F mix and pump through via the flush port when done.
    when the cyl head drain hole clogs the head fails to drain.
    add extreme low temps,below about 27*F and it opens up a 4" or so long crack between the 2nd and 3rd plug down.
    makes a real mess.
    that drain hole is smaller than a pencil eraser and at the very bottom outside corner of the head.
