I have 1996 Yamaha 9.9, 4-stroke, long shaft motor that is mounted on boat in the water. Getting no spark. Any ideas?

Check the kill switch. Check the ignition switch.
If the motor thinks (white wire grounded) the kill switch is activated there will be no spark.
If the motor thinks (white wire grounded) the ignition switch is in the off position there will be no spark.
What in the hell is the complete engine model?
