    Need search guidance

    How would i search for finding threads related to outboard engine cranking up but no spark from the spark plugs. Need to find the right words for searching the related thread. Engine is a 200HP 1999 two stroke carburated Salt Water series II.

          I see your problem. Just type in No spark in field and see a whole lot of threads relating to a lot of different engines where spark may have been an issue.

            then do you have a digital multimeter?

            do you have a service manual?
            do you have any knowledge of basic DC circuits?

              Thanks for your replies. I do have a multi meter and basic electronics back ground. With a little help i know i can figure this out.

                    need to get one , as it has all the specs and procedures for your motor.

                    I do not have a manual for your motor, but I do not have the motor either

                        ok
                        the SX200TXRX.
                        means its a saltwater series EFI 200.
                        no carbs.
                        means its a 3.1L.
                        that means it uses 6 pulser coils as triggers that use a common ground.
                        lose the pulser ground and you lose all 6 sparks.
                        the stator charge coils are left bank right bank.
                        lose a charge coil and you lose 1 bank.
                        a grounded stop switch will kill all 6 but the alarm should sound when cranking,if the alarm works.

                        google CDI electronics for a decent testing guide.
