    Re: F90TLR, 2006

    I purchases a new T/T assy from boats.net ($1474...ouch).

I installed and when I released the safety bar on the motor it fell down gradually.

I then pushed the up button to raise but it didn't come up. I did this for only a few seconds.

Just after install on the motor I checked the fluid and it seemed like it was full.

Do they ship these new parts with fluid or do I have to add more.

Is there a procedure on these new installs that I have to follow?

Sounds like the valve that unlocks hydraulic pressure so that the motor can be raised manually has been opened. Tighten it down and the unit will probably work.

I tried to turn but I'm putting so much force on it that I'm afraid it might cause some harm. It looks like it's brass, that's softer.

I put a crescent wrench on the screwdriver that fits and there's a lot of force on it.

        Clockwise to tighten, correct???

The fluid is easy enough to check as well as is bleeding. (Simply run it up and down several times)

With it being shipped, air may have moved inside the unit causing the issue.

I see there's a circ clip on it. I took my screwdriver + cres wrench, got some leverage and tightened. Works fine.

Turned it the wrong way accidentally initially?
