I prefer Bacarrdi **** or evan Williams 1873 over valium.

in my opinion after over 30 yrs of the cwap.
Yamaha makes the overall best product, we wont disscuss the infernal V8.

        Times are Tough

        My God Keith
Have a cup of tea and settle down a bit??
Or if you think owning a Yammie is tough you should maybe try a merc??

Not a nickels worth of difference between the 4 stroke outboards produced today. All have their quirks and positives. I like Yamaha because of their simple design and their straight forward approach to engineering and motion. Although some may not agree on straight forward.

Maybe the government mandated emissions and efficiency requirements has caused the outboards to become increasingly complex?....My old 1999 C90 Yamaha blows some smoke and burns some gas, but dang it's simple enough for me to keep it running!....

Back when I used to deal with Yamaha dealers I had one dealer, who also sold Mercury's, tell me that for every one Mercury that he sold he sold ten Yamaha's. And, that for every one Yamaha he had to repair he had to repair ten Mercury's. He was a straight up guy and had no reason to lie.

                  But like John Prine might say;

"Pretty good, not bad, we can't complain
Cause actually all them motors is just about the same"

I could place ALL the electronic parts I have replaced on yamahas since about 1995 in a shopping bag and walk away. we don't stock ign coils, stators or CDI,powerpacks, switchboxs or what have you.

if I did the same for jonny/rudes and mercs I would need at least 3 3/4 ton trucks.

biggest issue most techs have with Yamaha is that infernal YDS.
puter says its good they whine.

why not break out the BEST tool ya got?

after all it sits on your neck and is held in by your ears.

know of a guy that had several hundreds of pounds of surplus powder go up in smoke not long ago, glad he had it in a shed away from the house.
I am sure the smell was not what the fire department was hoping for
