  • water in oil

I have a 2002 Yamaha f115 outboard. started running funny at low rpms, came home, did a checkover, found water in the oil, very milky colored. I have read a few things about this, what is my next step? do I drain the oil, due to saltwater, fill back up, fog pistons to keep from rusting, any help would be appreciated........

Yes change the oil and filter, but you need to circulate to get it to replace the contaminated oil.
Your problem is how would you do that because you don't want to add further water. Short runs (out of water and no earmuffs etc.) but don't let overheat; your water pump impellor might also get damaged.
I'd spray WD40 down each cylinder just like winterizing.
You may need to change oil and filter a couple of times. When reasonably clear investigate how this water is getting in. Take notes before you do anything because you don't want to test with water- you may be able to determine which cylinder by looking at each spark plug for water.
It is urgent to get water out of motor!

      water in the oil

I would suggest something better than water disbursement { fortieth attempt} (wd 40) not a very good oil..You should replace your thermostat after a complte drain and refill w/new filter and test run and ck agin for water in the oil..if its still there.. you have a major issue...and don't let it sit with milky oil in her...
