  • F15 temp light

I have a 2007 F15. Recently while *****ing at low rpm, the temp light came on even though water was emitting from the tell-tale. It went out after a minute or so. The rest of the trip was fine. Then at a later date it came back on for 30 -40 seconds but at a higher rpm. Would this indicate that it's time for a new impeller?

They should be replaced every couple of years as Yamaha recommends even if running in clean fresh water just like the thermostats
Nothing like waiting for something to fail and ruin a trip or get you in deep trouble if a motor has a problem at a bad time.
Plus if you pull things apart and clean and lub bolts and shafts regularly then you have a lot less chance of breaking things trying to get it apart when things fail completely
