What is the proper way to test the pulser on a sx225ox66. Batteries on with key on, checking for voltage, ohms ?

You really ought to think about getting a copy of the service manual for your model motor.

I see say's the blind man as he picks up the hammer and SAW. You are most likely correct about the service manual. I have an old Seloc but for us stupid people it get confusing, there for we come to the forums such as this one to seek help and then when we find the trouble we buy parts from the web site. As now I know ,I need the test harness for the process, little more than just a meter to check things with.

You can back probe the connections with a small pin or paper clip, just be careful not to harm the insulation on wires and connector.

A Yamaha service manual for your motor will save you a lot of time and trouble . May save you days or weeks if no one is as helpful as Boscoe and post pieces of good info

Thanks 99, Things like what you posted sound like personnel experience in this process. These are things that I am learning and sometimes one benefits far more from this type of info. There will be a service manual order asap. As far as Boscoe ,well him and Rodbolt both have been nothing short on helping me with info and some of that personnel experience, you know don't put the green wire to the red one.

          Thanks

I did not mean to leave out Rodbolt's help, I was just meaning Boscoe's nack at posting pics of useful info, but they do disappear not long after they help the OP.
Rod is the one that gave me the info on the back-probing when I needed help testing

Even after you get your manual you will be back here for help just not as much
