  • Digital Tach wiring on a 2003 Merc/Yamaha F255

    I just bought a used 2003 Merc/Yamaha 225 4 stroke. the Merc model number is # 1225F234K. I also picked up a digital Tach, Speedometer, and Fuel Management gauge. I am having trouble figuring out where to connect the two harness leads at the engine on the tach for the tilt position and oil and water alarms. I can only find one connector that seem to match up, but not the second.

    Here is a picture of the leads coming off of the back of the Tach:

    Here is a picture of the wiring harness:

    And here are pictures of the connectors at the engine that seem like they would match up, but I have no idea if they are the correct ones:

    I saw a reference in a similar post that one of the connectors might not be located at the front of the cowling. Does anyone have any suggestions where I might look?

    Thanks

    The connectors will be found at the front of the engine pan. Pretty close to the ten pin connector.

    They get connected to the harness that will run to the tachometer.

    Wire color codes are

    P = Pink
    P/W = Pink/white
    P/B = Pink/Black
    B = Black
