  • Motor bogging down

    Hi Everybody,
I have been dealing with an issue on my Yamaha 225 for the last couple trips out. Motor is a 1996 225STURU. Motor starts and idles great, no issues there. Powers up, no issues there, gets to about 5300-5400 RPMS...no issues. Runs great for about an hour or so.
Coming back through the inlet, drop the throttle down and the motor starts to bog and wont go past 4800 RPMs. We have tuned this motor, adjusted the jets, adjusted the idle, replaced the fuel pumps. I should have recorded it but it almost sounds like its not getting enough gas. Checked the primer ball (which is brand new) and it was rock solid.

Short of the fuel strainer in the motor, I am not sure what left to check. Seems a little odd that it runs fine for a while then starts doing this. Maybe something temperature related?

Any help and insight is always appreciated.

    Joe
