  • Fuel Managment Gauge

I have a 07 F150TXR, what do I need to add a fuel management gauge? I am guessing the gauge, harness, and sender? What are the part numbers? Is it worth it to add this?

    Here is one Yamaha way:

    2015_Yamaha_MRP

If you have an NMEA 2000 device you can get fuel flow from the motor displayed on the device using just a single harness made by Lowrance. 0120-37

If I go the NEMA 2000 route, I just need the harness and nothing else, no fuel flow sender?

correct, you do not need a sensor becasue the ECM on the motor continuously "transmits" via NMEA 2000 its CALCULATED fuel flow.

With a NMEA2000 capable chart plotter, etc connected on the same network as the motor, you can see that fuel flow, and typically the instrument can then also calculate MPG, fuel usage, cruising range, etc.

(and you should also be able to see other parameters output by the ECM: tach, voltage, oil pressure etc)

You need the Lawrence cable to connect the engine to the NMEA network. And of course you need the network "backbone" - and your display device connected to it as well, if you don't already have that for some other reason.

I think the Lawrence cable can be had for ~$100, and a "NMEA starter kit" for a little less than that.
