  • Enduro 8hp Refit press-fit nipple to block

At the bottom of the block there's an external cooling water transfer hose (10) connected to the block at each end by a brass right-angled nipple (5,6).

One of these nipples had become blocked - it was very hard to blow air through it. My dealer told me that the nipple was a press fit into the block and advised gentle heat to help it out. This worked and I unblocked it. After everything cooled down, I offered the nipple back up to the block to find that it was no longer a press fit - more of a sliding fit. The nipple must originally have been set in on some kind of goop - does anyone have any idea what I should use to set it back in again? Thanks in advance.

A small bit of Quick-Set JB Weld on and around the nipple will hold it in there very well....Any auto parts store will have it and it's handy stuff to keep in your shop for a multitude of applications....The Quick-Set just sets up faster(about an hour) than the regular JB Weld(about 24 hours), but either will do the trick....clean all surfaces for a good adhesive bond....

OK, I'll try that and post again in a week or so when I've got the engine back together and tested it. Thanks
