  • 1200XL not getting fuel

I just rebuilt by 1200 XL. I dsisconnected the oil pump and did not put on a plate. I just blocked off all the oil lines. Now, I am not getting fuel. I prime it and it cranks up, but goes dead immediately if I stop priming. Where is the fuel pump? help would be greatly appreciiated.

If you disconnected the oil pump, isn't the engine doing the "smart" thing and protecting itself? After all, it thinks the oil pump isn't working, right?

But I could be way off base here - I don't even know what engine a 1200XL is. But I'm also relatively new to Yamaha's.

it just had air in the lines and took forever to prime all the lines. it finally fired up and purred like a kitten.
