    Trim and Oil Harness Motor End

    I bought an F115 build date 12/01 that came with a 10 pin main harness, a key switch and an analog Yamaha tach which I'm not going to use.

    Then bought a multi function Tach 6y5-8350T-81 and a 704 Binnacle.
    I bought a used trim and oil harness that plugged into the tach and binnacle on one end.
    Now the problem, I can’t seem to find where the two connectors on the other end plugs into the motor. I pulled out the little hair I have left so throwing in the towel and asking for help . Pictures of the connectors I need to plug into would certainly help this old man .

    I don't have a photo but look in the front of the engine for two ivory colored four pin nylon connectors. They will look just like the ones on the trim oil harness.

      Will check tomorrow morning but when looking for them, are these two ivory colored connectors plugged into another connector or are they open to plug these two connectors?

      Is the Trim and Oil harness necessary to get the motor started?

        The trim and oil harness is not needed to start or run the motor. It is used to provide certain information to a tachometer and trim gauge.

        The connectors may or may not be in use. The motor comes from the factory with the connectors not attached to anything.

        Start at the rigging grommet and work back towards the motor. Should be the ten pin harness coming through the grommet, shift and throttle cable, fuel hose, battery cables, and anything else someone ran through the grommet such as a temp sender harness, speedometer pressure tube, water pressure tube, trim/oil harness or ???

          The motor came with an analog tach so that's probably why there wasn't a trim/oil harness.

          Here's a pic of what I think is one of the two connector. Please note that it is plugged into a mating connector.
          I can't find the second one anywhere .

            Front the engine pan. Down in the bottom. Might be covered up.

              Here are pics of the motor. Nothing hidden...I don't think this has/had the connectors.
              Throwing in the towel so will tow the boat to the dealer on Monday and have them point it out to me .

                  it should be behind the 10 pin connector in that bracket.
                  the two wire pink and black is for trim sender.
                  I cant remember what year that motor went to a single 4 pin connector for trim and oil.

                  if yours has the single 4 pin on the motor and you have the twin 4 pin harness it will require an adapter.

                    So I just unplug this connector, buy an adapter and plug into that? Simple enough. Thanks

                      The single four pin was introduced in 2005 models. He said his motor was made in 2001. It will have two four pin connectors.

                          take the 10 pin out of the bracket and look behind it. its there.

                            There are other connectors that are used on the motor that are completely different from the trim/oil connectors.

                              the trim/oil connectors on the F115 are located within a few inches of the 10 pin connector.
                              typically if I rig one and do not use the connectors I neatly tuck them in the bracket behind the 10 pin.
