  • Trim Issue

200 Yamaha on a 2010 Reata. When the motor is almost all the way down it rubs on the left side. Its where the metal part protrudes from the motor and as it goes in it rubs on the left side. I can see there is a little more of a gap on the right side.

Is there some kind of adjustment that would allow me to move the motor just a hair to the right?

    Thanks for any thoughts.

Maybe at some point the tilt tube was replaced and the washers were omitted or all put on one side. You could move the tilt tube out and add some washers to space it over. Or maybe if it hasn't been replaced maybe the tilt tube is just worn out.

What is the complete model of the motor? Is this a two stroke, a four stroke or what? What is the shaft length?

Maybe a new alternator is needed. My friends mentioned they had a problem with their 200 Yamaha, they bought and installed a new alternator and that fixed their problem. Yes, it must be the alternator. Maybe the belt is slipping.

Thanks for the quick reply its good know you guys are here. This issue was RDU - Real Dumb User...It appeared to be hitting because it was making a knocking noise but it just needed grease.
