  • Yamaha Alarm Buzzer needs to be louder

My hearing is degraded and I discovered a few weeks ago that I cannot hear my alarm buzzer when running. I would like to replace it with something much louder and relocate it to the outside top of the console at the same time. Does Yamaha make a louder buzzer or can I directly replace it with a 12V 108b Piezo type buzzer that draws 150 ma max without fear of damage to the sensors at the motor end.

Thanks for any comments and have a great day

that 12V piezio horn should do it.
depending on where yours is mounted it can also be remounted.

Yamaha does not make a louder buzzer.

The specs for the one you are proposing is so low that the motor will not be affected.

Another thought is a bright LED bulb positioned on the helm somewhere within the field of view. It can supplement a buzzer.

Or, as rodbolt says, you can remove the existing buzzer from either the control box or the back of the key switch and mount it somewhere closer to your good ear.

I was thinking myself to connect auto relay parallel to buzzer, like fan relay, and to it connect another buzzer and bright red light.

          Needs to be louder

Thanks to all for your comments. I will install an LED along with the new buzzer since the original will be marginal for my hearing even when located outside the console

            depending on the motor.
I have used a twin horn setup using a standard 12v twin horn setup.
            will make the deaf jump.
