has anyone installed a Faria cylinder head temperature sender that looks like the one in the pic below? How does the spade terminal connect to the sender? the pic in the directions looks like it is just sitting on top. magic?

Position the spade fitting at a right angle to the flanged fitting on the sensor. The open part of the spade fitting should be facing downward. Then just slide the spade fitting onto the flanged fitting of the sensor. The flanges of the sensor will slide into the looped portion of the spade fitting. Friction will hold it in place.

The directions call for mounting the sensor off a head bolt... Has anyone successfully installed off a different bolt? Pics?Comment

However you mount the sensor so that it is contact with the cylinder head cover does not really matter. Could be a cover bolt or could be a different bolt. Say for instance there is an unused tapped hole some where on the cover. Get a bolt that fits that hole and use it to mount the sensor.
By the way, it might be beneficial to remove a spot of paint at the point where the sensor contacts the cylinder head cover. Then, maybe place a dab of heat transfer compound on that spot. This will facilitate a more accurate reading and a faster response time to changing temperature.Comment
