  • another 1989 90 ETLF question

On the 1989 90 ETLF there is a plug, just to the stern of the lower unit fill vent plug, that is labeled "wash". When would that be used? Can't find it in any diagrams I have looked at. Any Ideas?

years ago Yamaha, and a few others, used a thread in flush device.
you can still get it, for the Yamaha its the same one used to flush the older jet skis.
rabbit ears work better with less chance of blowing a seal.

this is where the old wives tale about water pressure during flushing comes from.

also with rabbit ears to flush it reduces the chance of losing the plug, losing the gasket or stripping a thread.

Thanks rodbolt17 I'll stick to the "rabbit ears" for flushing.
