  • Tachometer Part Number HELP

I recently bought a 2007 Key West 2020 DC with a 07/2006 F150TXR outboard. The boat came as a Yamaha PowerMatched unit.My tach is bad, what is the part number for it? It has 2 four pin connectors and 6 single wires. Help would be greatly appreciated, trying to order this tonight.

did you see that Yamaha has dropped the 6y5 tach??
they now will sell you a round command link with adapters for the mechanical shift motors.
      this bites.

Did not know this. What about the folks that have older models that won't work with CL?

I thought they only did away with the -90 tachometer.

I think that you will find that the -83 tachometer is still being offered, whereas the -90 has been discontinued.

Which now means that the owner of a 2005 and later motor will need an adapter harness if and when he needs to replace a failed -90 with a -83.

Means more parts are being used. Which seems to be Yams modus operandi. If two parts can do the job, let's make sure that three have to be used.
