1994 200txrs float drop setting ..please..
Hello I am looking for the float drop setting on these engines. I have set them at 16mm, but is there a limit to the float drop. Problem; seemed it was not getting enough fuel, had to adjust the tag on the back side of float so it "opened ' more. Is there a max setting on this as I adjusted and now fuel is pouring out of front of carbs.

never saw a drop setting.
but that's NOT your problem.
your problem is the needle wont close/seal.
most likely to much untrained skinners on it.
take them apart and try again. -

dunno why there is a way to adjust it but no specs.
could be the japs never thought that americans don't think like they do.
americans see a screw or a tang and they will mess with it regaurdless.
I have a set in the garage I need to finnish today, if I get to it I will post the float drop on this set.
I also have a set to do on a 1115.
a cyl head to install on an F50.
a boat with a 4.3L mercruiser that is tied up to my dock that needs to disappear today.
my neighbors boat that I need to tow to the ramp.
my boat is on the trailer,neeeds some maint and needs to be tied back up to my dock.
couple that with my wet yard that needs mowing and Ill be fairly busy.
then I am almost out of 6.5X55, almost out of 7x57 and almost out of 7.5x54.
need to get some rounds loaded as well.
luckily I do have several boxes of 8x56R left and plenty of 8mmJS and 7.62x54 and 7.62x39 left.Comment

I enjoy my firearms as well,pistol as well as rifles and shot guns.
I did pull the carbs off again,and the needle valves were not seating as well as they should of. Found some of the springs on the top of them were of different heights,bent more up -wards and some were straight across the top,horizontal ,if you will. I don't know which way they should be. I decided to "pull" the spring up,elongating them, so when put back in, they tend to seat down, by way of the spring pushing them down when the float is reattached. If I do it this way it seems to have stopped, the fuel from come out the front of carbs during idle, as they seemed to seat good.My question is, if they are set this way, with the proper float setting at 16mm ,and all else being set properly,ie; timing , link and sync,etc., will the floats open the needle valve enough to allow enough fuel thru to reach proper rpms,4500-5500? ( have new fuel pumps and hose,clean filters )Comment

it should, float height is way more critical than float drop.
as long as the floats cant drop enough to hang up on the bowl drop is ok.
float height is rather critical.
that's what determines the fuel level in the bowl and will run rich if its to high and lean if its to low.Comment
