  • 2005 T60TLR Fuel Problems

I have a T 60TLR Yamaha outboard Motor that I'm Having problems with motor to keep running, Has been sitting for 2 years, cleaned fuel tank and put new gas along with Sta-bil, changed the fuel filter and fuel/water separator filter. Motor starts and runs for a few seconds then dies, Have done this several times hoping to get the Sta-bil through the motor to clean out the old gas. I don't think it's in the fuel line because the bulb stays tight and I have taken fuel line off the motor and gas comes out of line, Does anyone have any suggestions before I have to take it in for repair. Thanks

    injected motor
Have someone that knows what to do work on it
Running it to see if it will get better with magic mixes can take out pistons on 2 strokes

Unless you have the tools and test equipment it is best left to those with the proper knowledge and equipment

Fuel pressures is where I would start

Not sure about the "T", but if its similar to our 90 tlr with carbs, I suspect you'll need to go through the carbs. Also, check condition of fuel lines and tank. A complete replacement is much cheaper than a repeat car rebuild after the first run. I know from past payment.

Our ethanol fuels attack even resistant materials eventually and separates for more issues. i empty the tanks and lines between trips. No gas means no gas to go bad.
