  • Cylinder intermittent

I have a 1998 C90 2 stroke that cylinder #3 is only running at higher speeds and takes quite awhile to start firing. When I drop back it quits again. I have changed plugs and swapped coil packs and the problem remains in cyl 3 Any ideas. Thanks

Did you try draining the carb and check for any sediment/crap in #3?

I'd pull the carb, carb bowl and check for any varnish. While there, pull the main and idle jets and check to make sure their clear.

Sounds like your getting fuel thru the main (high RPM's) but at idle, that jet is plugged up and no fuel is getting to the cylinder.

#3 is the one that furnishes the pulse for fuel pump, check to make sure it is not leaking fuel into the crank case

Seems the fuel pump (diaphram failing?) and #3 cylinder (or lowest cylinder) is pretty much a VERY common failure..
