Most speedos i am familiar w are ran by water pressure, not voltage based, (unless they are GPS) trace the hose from speedo back and look for break

some have a hole about 1/8 in lower unit that picks up water but they are not accurate, any wood, debri, or trash will stop up that hole and speedo will not work, I keep a small drill bit in my boat just for this issue, especially for winter fishing when that hole gets clogged water is trapped in that section of lower unit, the hole is on the lower unit and in the v section of the motor below cavation plate and above prop

I believe he is saying his digital speedo gauge is not coming on.

        Check for voltage to it

If the display slowly faded out over time (not a quick, just stopped working) and eventually went blank, its likely just worn out.

The visable alarms, (if any on your gauge at the bottom) do usually still work (when you initially turn the key on) even if the main display is dead.

If your(I don't think you are) seeing a 0 MPH, the pitot hole on the LU is likely clogged.

Then measure to see if there is voltage to it or not, we sure cannot do it from this side of computer
