    12V power under the cowling

    Where is a good place to tap into power and ground under the cowling of a T60TLR that has a tiller handle. Preferably 12 volts that is hot when the key is turn to on. It is to power some low amp gauges and lights for gauges.

    tap into the yellow wire near the keyswitch.
    Yamaha makes an adapter for that.

      Usually within the tiller handle itself you will find electrical connection points. Say for instance you want to install a tachometer. You will gain access to a yellow wire, a black wire and a green wire. A small fused harness connects to these wires and powers the tachometer. Plus, it provides the tachometer signal.

      In a later multifunction tiller handle you remove a panel under the handle to get access to bullet connectors on these wires.
