there is a good chance that water/trash in the lines, primer bulb, and fuel pumps dumped stuff into carbs after you cleaned them.

Did you do the link and sync like manual spells out after reinstalling the cleaned carbs

Besides the above, can you post some history on the engine, ie, is it new to you?

Did it sit for awhile without fuel stabilizer?

To your knowledge, has it ever run correctly?

When you cleaned the carbs, did you pull the jets physically out and inspect all the jets, that their fully open?

At the very least, drain the carbs (should be a drain plug) into a clean tuna fish can and inspect what comes out. IE water still, rubber parts from ethonol fuel damage, etc. If craps in there, keep pumping from your fresh fuel tank until you get clean fuel out of the bowls...

the engine was running great just prior and it is new to me. I did take carbs off and apart all jets came out and cleaned

Even thou you cleaned the carbs, some debris (as noted above) left in the fuel system may have made its way into the carbs.

At the very least, I would pull the carb drain bolts and drain the carbs into a CLEAN TUNA FISH can (so you can examine for debris/water). Maybe prime the bulb a couple of times to flush out any potential crap.

Make sure your internal YAMAHA fuel filter is nice and clean, no water and the cup is fully seated with a good gasket/o-ring. Any vacuum leaks in the system will cause havok.. Same goes for any external fuel filter.

May I ask how many hours, in your possession, it ran fine?
Your first post mentions several minutes..
