  • part number for pressure control valve kit

I'm looking on the boats.net price parts listing and not seeing the whole pressure control valve kit. I found this number on another site and wanted to drop this number in the search to find the comparable kit...can someone help?

    60H-12416-00-00KIT

Shows No results under that #.

A year, HP, model #, etc would help others to find what you need...

Since when are we provided with the model of the motor? Almost never.

There is no such thing as a Yamaha part number for a pressure control valve kit. Yamaha kits have specific types of part numbers and it is not in the format of 60H-12416-00-00KIT.

The other website that you mention is run by a Yamaha dealer who caters to do it yourselfers. Since Yamaha does not offer one, he has created the kit that you mention. You will not find that "kit" here or anywhere else.

Between this website and the other one, I tend to lean towards the other one.

Oh yea... Its like 20 questions

Often the same on other websites I frequent.

Even worse, IMO, is when you (or someone else) provide the likely fix, and you NEVER hear back, if it worked or not (motorcycle forum specifically).

If you have seen my posts of late (new to forum) you'll see that I have included the 225TXRP in almost all posts by this one...simple over site.

I figured this forum was small and intimate and since Bosco and Rod have commented on my other threads this week I may have even assumed they would know it's "that guy" again.

Not sure if you guys are affiliated with the boats.net parts or not but if so you may want to keep the "grrr, stupid posters..." to minimum. boats.net parts are proving to be cost effective over other retailer

With that all said I agree when people don't post back to tell them if they fixed their issue...is frustrating. We want to know if they had success and if we know what we are talking about. I have frequented and moderated several forums for IT, boats, volvos and vw.

I do see that the other retailer has just created a kit to keep it simple for buyers. Based on Rod's comment (he suggested the whole Pressure Valve Kit in another post) I just assumed this made sense to those in the know. Surprised Yamaha doesn't package kits to make a few more $$.

I am a Yamaha master technician, passed the test in march of 06.
I NEVER mentioned a KIT cause Yamaha never offered one.
as I work at a Yamaha dealership I have NO knowledge of aftermarket Yamaha parts.
              I simply don't use them.
myself, I prefer the older valve design.
yes the grommet now requires more maint but the VALVE never wears.

the newer mushroom style will wear.

                rod,

THis is great info, thanks. I'm a bit confused by your comment.

                1. Are you stating you can still get the old design or has it been superseded for good?
                2. From what you wrote it seems you say the new valve never wears...and then the new style will wear?

I'm pretty sure that "kit" link is just the other vendor pulling all the OEM parts together into a kit...I didn't get the impression they were after market.

On this you are absolutely correct.

He also offers a mid-section exhaust kit of all Yamaha parts that provides for additional parts being included, such as an oil pump for example.
