    On your reply to my earlier post you said the idle air adjust would be fine at factory rec settings and the you said 3/4 port and 1 1/4 stb. I think you meant a range on each carb not 3/4 on the port side and 1 1/4 stb. Just trying to make sure because my man says all carbs are adjusted the same turns.
    Thanks and good to find you again.

      Thanks Rodbolt ;
      The only question I have is how can someone that graduated in 1980 have gained so much knowledge? You certainly must have worked hard and we all appreciate your help. BTW, I graduated in 1965 and I'm still striving.

        by the time I graduated HS I had already completed a vocational 3 yr autoshop program and could run a valve face grinder a hard seat grinder. various bushing reamers and burnishers the armature growler and armature lathe as well as some crankshaft grinding and boring bar work.
        this type of work except for a 6 yr stint programming and setting up CNC lathes and mills at GOEX Cleburne TX and a 6 yr stint in the USN's advanced electronics field this about all I have ever done.
        and yep, I am still learning.
        just did the Helm master course in kennasaw GA last feb.

        over the years with courses from carter carbs,prestolite and AC delco as well as mercruiser,mercury,mariner,force, tohatsu,honda, Suzuki Volvo penta and Yamaha schools not counting 3 solid years of advanced electronics schools in the canoe club,
        I probably have 6-7 years equivalent of college.

        mostly the hobby now is collecting and shooting pre Korean war military rifles.
        mostly I roll my own .41 swiss,7.5x54 French,8x57,7x57 6.5x55,8mm lebel and 8mmx56r mannlicher and 7.62x54R.

          You mentioned "Helm Master" and I wanted to get your thoughts on this system. It sounds pretty complicated, expensive and mostly for folks looking for somewhere to spend their money.
          Also, what is "canoe club"

            canoe club is the USN.

            helm master is rather expensive.
            the Yamaha and Volvo versions are only avalible as new install not aftermarket.
            Teleflex does make an aftermarket version for about 18,000 dollars.
