Hi everyone my name is Lou im new here my dad has a yamaha 150 etxh v6
cylinder 2 and cylinder 6 have no power all 6 cylinders have about 120 psi 6 new spark plugs each coil has spark per cylinder including cyl 2 and cyl 6 and the sparkplugs all look the same color this motor ran great until it ran out of fuel
then it ran good for like 3 hours after we put fuel in then we drove back to the dock and when we drove to dock in no wake zone we noticed it running rough
and its the top and bottom cylinders on the fuel pumps side. does cyl 2 and cyl 6 run the fuel pumps ? could it be weak coils i plan on swapping coils to see if problem changes to another cyl. and i plan to remove air box and hit it with carb spray see if motor picks up. also when this motor is started cold it smokes bad is that caused by bad fuel pumps? thanks for your time

it actually does sound like the diaphrams in the fuel pumps are ruptured,, a easy test is to tighten the 3 screws on each of the fuel pumps,, use a 10 mm socket and loosen the bottom fuel pump, (loosen from the block, only do not take off) squeeze the primer bulb, if the fuel pours out of the back of the fuel pump then it is bad, then do the other one the same way,,

hi thanks for the responce but do u think the pumps would cause cyl2 and cyl6 to not make power like i said they have 120 psi compression and spark

sure if they are getting to much fuel, being washed out..
