  • broken plastic T8 choke lever

The choke lever, attached to the inboard side of the choke shaft, on the 2006 T8 Nikki carb is plastic and became brittle and broke off. Yamaha shows the lever in the parts diagram but Yamaha doesn't sell it as a separate part. I was told one has to buy the whole carb.
Does anyone know where I might get that little plastic lever?

My mistake, the plastic lever is on the outboard side of the choke shaft and is attached to the rod running to the manual pullout choke knob. The inboard lever is steel and attaches to the electric choke solenoid.

A photo of carb/lever would be helpful, but considering the price of a new carb, I'd be prone to get creative and attempt to fabricate a similar/workable lever...

If it does not carry a Yamaha part number it is not available from Yamaha. Being that it is Nikki carburetor you might try one of their distributors.

The problem may be finding the Nikki part number of the carburetor.

Seems that Nikki carbs are used on Briggs and Stratton engines.

Maybe take the carb to a small motor repair shop and see if they can identify it.

The Nikki carb number is stamped into the casting. So you're right, a Nikki distributor is my next step.
          Thanks,
