  • Anode replacement

Another question from the newbie here. The used boat I bought a few weeks ago has a Yamaha C40TLRY 2-stroke. The anodes on the bracket and lower unit are blueish-white and crusty so I guessing they should be replaced which looks to be an easy task. However, the engine diagram shows the motor also has a cylinder head anode. I've looked all around where the diagram shows it's located but cannot seem to find it. Is it inside motor? I'm using this boat in the Fl Gulf flats so I understand it's important to maintain the anodes to protect the motor. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

you can clean external ones up on a wire wheel and put back on if not too badly corroded. Or buy new.
Yes internal , but may break bolts trying to get to them.
May not be worth the trouble
