  • 2000 Yamaha SX250TURY dies at full throttle

outboard runs good 3/4 throttle but if you go to full in completely dies in one minute. just like you turn the key off. you can restart the engine and go again right away.. what would cause that?

typically, a dirty VST filter or a fuel restriction or a bad lift pump diaphram.
anything that causes a loss of rail pressure.

have you tried monitoring fuel rail pressures when it dies?
cheaper than chunking parts at it.

What is the connection between water being in the fuel and the motor dying only at WOT?

Are you implying that it will run OK with water in the fuel up to 3/4 throttle but above 3/4 throttle that water in the fuel will cause a problem?
